Watercolorist demonstrates techniques

LANCASTER- More than 30 people filled the Monarch Gallery on Friday to see Lancaster artist Donna Noice demonstrate watercolor techniques during the Friday Night Art Chat.
"I've been interested in art all my life," Noice said.
She said she's always preferred watercolor.
"I like it wet," she told the audience. She said she likes to use a wet paint approach and then subtract where necessary. She works until it begins to dry and set on the paper.
"It was just an idea to have something on Friday nights for people after work ... to talk about art," Marilyn Walker said. She and her husband conceived of Friday Night Art Chat and have been pleased with the response.
"We have been amazed. There has been more than 30 people every Friday night," she said.
The chat is free and open to the public at 6 p.m. Fridays at the gallery on West Wheeling in Lancaster. Topics vary.
