Connie Head Shot.jpg (52579 bytes)I grew up in Tucson, Arizona and earned a degree from the University of Arizona in Art Education. After two years of teaching, I put my paints away while raising a family. I went to work in 1984 as a graphic artist and after the children were out of the nest, I began to paint again in 1995.

I have enjoyed the satisfaction of creating art in various mediums. When I paint in watercolor, I attempt to take advantage of the wonderful characteristics of this particular media; the transparency, the spontaneity, the wetness. I try to use these elements to create a mood in my paintings beyond just the description of the subject. For the past eleven years I have focused on watercolor with its unique effects and challenges. I have been encouraged and guided with the aid and advice of many local artists, including Ellie Heingartner, Millie Hummel, Donna Noice, and numerous others. I’ve also enjoyed the opportunity to study with nationally known artists such as Joe Fettingis, Arnie Westerman, Homer Hacker, and Frank Webb.

In addition to my portfolio of still life's and landscapes, I enjoy painting portraits and figures. The influence of growing up in the southwest also provides many personally rewarding subjects for my paintings which are also appreciated in my showings in the Midwest

I am a member of the Central Ohio Watercolor Society, the Worthington Area Art League, the Dublin Area Art League, and the Collage of Women Artists. I have participated in many of their shows, as well as others, and have been chosen for the Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition for several years.
