Marilyn
Walker paints narrative art about current cultural life, a convergence of her
entire activist life. The mother of five daughters, tutor of children with
learning problems, creator and coordinator of the youth gardening program for
Lancaster City schools and parks, horticulturist, herbalist, homestead gardener, finalist
in the 1983 National Organic Gardening contest; bicyclist, she has ridden the Great
Ohio Bike Adventure for 17 years.
The intensity of her commitment is now
woven into a media quest, creating art that expresses her immersion into the
natural world at Creeksong farm, the growing and sharing of food, and portraying
women in their lives and work.
