Monarch Gallery Artist - Carolyn Sittler
Watercolors, jewelry, fiber art, hooked rugs, and fused glass
In 1998 after I retired from my job as a CPA, I took my first art class. It was quite a challenge making the left brain, right brain transition. It took several years, but I was determined to become an artist. Finally someone asked me to describe myself as an artist, that's when I knew I did it. I would describe myself a a a colorist, I love using strong colors in my jewelry, fiber art, hooked rugs, watercolors and fused glass.
Most of my work is in the mediums of water color and fused glass These two mediums produce wonderful surprises when the artist relinquishes control to the medium. As an artist it is my job to turn these surprises into something people can appreciate and relate to. My work can be viewed on my web site, http://sites.google.com/sites/carolynsittler
My art work has been shown at the following festivals and shops: Ar t & Clay On Main, The Decorative Arts Center, The Monarch Gallery, The Berger Gallery, The High Road Gallery, Art on Fair, Dublin Art Festival, Fairfield County Fair, Hillard Art Festival, GrovePort Art Festival, Lithopolis Honey Festival. Member of the Lancaster Art Guild, and Canal Winchester Art Guild
