Artists Become a Member of the Monarch Gallery
What We Offer
The Monarch Gallery will offer an on-going avenue for advertising, exposure and sales for our gallery artists. We are committed to establishing an active gallery with continual shows, activities, and events. Among our benefits to members is the ability to have a page on the Monarch Gallery website which allows updates in real time.
Membership Types - Full Active Members (FM) and Special Arrangement Members (SAMs)
Full Active Members (FMs)
Benefits:
- Will have the opportunity on a monthly basis to have their work displayed in the gallery.
- Each full member can have a special show all of their own once a year.
- Full members may hold classes and or workshops in the gallery for a small fee.
- Each full member will have voting rights on matters brought before the general members meeting.
Obligations
- Full members pay a 10% commission to the gallery upon sales of their work.
- You will be expected to serve on a committee of your choosing, to attend meetings, and to be an active contributing member of the gallery.
Full Active Members (FMs) - Member FeesThe initial fee for membership is $100. Then the monthly fee for FM's will be $50.00 per month, payable before the first of the month with a 12 month signed commitment to the gallery coop.
Special Arrangement Members (SAMs)
- Non-voting members (with the exception of a SAM servering on the Monarch Gallery Board)
- The inital fee for this membership is $100. Then the monthly fee is $30.00 per month, payable before the first of each month with a 12 month signed commitment to the gallery coop.
- A 20% commission will be taken on sales.
- SAMs are required to work 2 days scheduled per month.
- If this commitment cannot be kept, a substitute must be found for your time slot.
- SAMs are asked to actively participate on committees.
All members are asked to support the gallery by volunteering to work some time each month in the gallery and server on committes of your choosing.
How To Apply For Membership
Artists who wish to apply for membership must submit examples of their artwork to the gallery. Bring in a portfolio making sure your name, address, phone number, e-mail address if applicable, and any other contact information is included in the portfolio. A special committee will jury your work and you will be contacted. Thank you very much for your interest in the Monarch Gallery.
